We are Christians
We are Christians, and Christians only. We follow Christ and none other. He is the Head of the church (Colossians 1:18), and the church is made up of the saved (Acts 2:47). We recognize that without God, we are nothing (John 15:6). And we also recognize that with Him we can do anything (Philippians 4:13).
Our goal is to get to heaven and be with God for all of eternity, therefore “we make it our aim to please Him” (2 Corinthians 5:9). The Bible is our authority and we strive to not add to it nor take away from it. “His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence…” (2 Peter 1:3).
We Believe the Bible
The Bible teaches that one is saved “by grace through faith” (Ephesians 2:8); not a dead faith but a living faith (James 2:14-26). Salvation is not something we earn, for even Christ Himself said “when you have done all that you were commanded, say, ‘we are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.’ “ But Christ still says in John 14:15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” We love him and joyfully submit to Him “because he first loved us” (1 John 4:19). And to those who truly realize the love of the Savior, “His commandments are not burdensome” (1 John 5:3). Therefore we believe in Him and humbly submit to Him in ALL things.
We believe the Bible when it says that "without faith it is impossible to please Him" (Hebrews 11:6). We believe the Bible when it says "faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God" (Romans 10:17). We believe the Bible when it says "believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved" (Acts 16:31). We believe the Bible when it says "with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved" (Romans 10:10). We believe the Bible when it says "the times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent (Acts 17:30); "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38); "unless you repent you will all likewise perish" (Luke 13:3). We believe the Bible when it says "And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on his name" (Acts 22:16); "Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life" (Romans 6:3,4); "For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ" (Galatians 3:27). We believe the Bible when it says "remain faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life" (Revelation 2:10). We don't pick and choose the areas in which we want to submit to God, but rather we humbly submit to His will in all things.
