Preparations

Have you ever considered how often, how much time and effort we put into preparing ourselves for something that is important to us? Pay close attention to our thought process for our article. When it comes to things that are important to us, we would never question or want anyone to question our intentions during our preparations. Many get offended at the thought of anyone questioning the amount of time and effort that they put into something that they love.

Now for the hard part of the read. How important eternity is and our overall place of where we “plan” to be is more than likely not lining up with how a faithful Christian ought to be. We will rationalize our way right into Hell and not give two thoughts about it other than making sure everyone knows that they should mind their own business. Consider the kind of table you are sitting at in your life. We are all guilty of sin but many of us continue to actively sit at the tables that Jesus would have flipped. The sad part is, instead of learning our lesson, we continue to go right back to that same table that Jesus flipped. If we do this, can we honestly say that we are preparing for eternity?

Oh, don’t worry, I won’t question how prepared you are to take your kids to some sort of extracurricular activity. I wouldn’t dare do that. I won’t dare question your work ethic when you keep piling on more work and continue to drift further away from the Lord. Honestly, I don’t have to question it because there’s no doubt about how you feel regarding eternity and being faithful to the Lord. We will be known by our fruits and no, I am not suggesting that I am the gatekeeper to heaven. I would like to think that I am trying to do the right thing by reminding you that we need to consider how we live.

Hear me out for just a moment and try to integrate these three things into your lives. First, work on loving others. Secondly, know your Bible. And finally, be faithful in prayer. I’m not saying that this will solve everything, but it is certainly a good start in preparation for eternity.
