Are my parents lost because they did not practice the things which you teach?

First and foremost, if you or I even attempt to answer such a question, then we have placed ourselves in the determining judgment seat that belongs to the Lord Jesus. Your parents are in the hands of the capable Lord who judges according to justice and fairness. Our place is not to reside on the throne of God, but to teach others the will of the Lord; this is where our responsibility lies, and we must do just that. Therefore, we will leave the judgment of your parents to the Lord, knowing with confidence that no one will be lost who does not deserve to be in that condition. However, we are not dead, and we will be judged by the words of Jesus: “He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him— the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.” (John 12:48). No matter where we might think our parents are, we must be obedient to the Lord. And, again, no matter where we might think they are, we know that they would encourage us to do the right thing. In Luke 16:27-31 Jesus tells of a certain rich man who died and went to a place of torment. Did he want his family to come and be with him? No; he begged that one could be sent to his family to tell them of the place he has ended up in so that they may change their lives before it is too late. So then, even if our parents are lost, they would beg us to be saved by following the commandments of Christ.
